Freedom Life Outreach is people with a desire to share the hope and love of Christ outside the walls of the church. We partner with key organizations in the community to accomplish this.

Held at the Mariner’s Museum Park in Newport News
Saturday, April 13, 2019

All proceeds go directly to Virginia Beach Justice Initiative to fund education and prevention projects, victim services, and the continuing effort to end human trafficking in Hampton Roads.

Care Net has three main fundraising opportunities: an annual dinner banquet, the Walk 4 Life, and a
baby bottle drive. FLC participates in all three by raising a team for the Walk 4 Life, the baby bottle drive
and inviting FLC attenders to the banquet. Our Prayer Partner ministry has been invited to pray on site
at Care Net and also receives prayer requests via email, for prayer support on an ongoing basis.
Individual volunteer opportunities are advertised and regularly updated on Care Net’s website.

Food for the Hungry is a Christian disaster relief and development organization working in more than twenty countries around the globe, seeking, “to end ALL forms of human poverty by going into the hard places and closely walking with the world’s most vulnerable people.” ( They accomplish this by partnering with individuals and churches to provide clean water, medical aid, education and vocational training, spiritual development and more, in a manner that is culturally sensitive and recognizes the humanity and dignity of those they serve.
In 2013, FLC adopted the village of Carmonial, and embarked upon a ten year partnership with FH in that village. Through child sponsorships, funds are raised to equip and empower families to identify their greatest development needs and then strategically work toward addressing and improving opportunities to live and thrive physically and spiritually. Some ongoing programs that FH uses to accomplish these aims are: an after school academic and Biblical tutoring program, women leaders training and equipping,
teaching food safety, health promotion and disaster prevention. The focus of their ministry is being Christ-centered, innovative and relational, child-focused, and cherishing culture. You can get involved with FH by sponsoring a child (sponsor drives 2-3 times per year), help with mission team fundraisers, and sign up for our annual mission trip in June or August.
Burbank Elementary is a natural partner for serving our community. This school faces many challenges associated with low-income families. Meeting reading and math goals on SOL tests remains very challenging for Burbank.
There are many ongoing opportunities to serve at Burbank and we have several regular volunteers that serve with special needs students and work with teachers in the classroom, tutoring students, meeting students for lunch as “lunch buddies,” helping with lesson preparation and assisting in the library. There are seasonal opportunities to serve setting up and breaking down the classrooms at that beginning and end of the school year. Also, volunteers are needed for special events throughout the school year that
take place on weekends and evenings.
